The paint chips above have the following names: Retro Mind, Innocence, Undercool, Saffron Thread, Euphoric Lilac, Aloe, and Memorial Rose.
I chose these specifically because each name accompanies strong imagery for me. I recommend selecting colors or paint names you feel drawn to.
Now, there are a few ways to do this writing exercise:
Option 1: Try to incorporate all of the paint names into one poem.
Options 2: Write an individual poem for each name.
Option 3: Pair together paint names that you think might connect, and write a poem including them.
For my poem, I’m going to select Innocence, Saffron Thread, and Aloe.
