Biography
I sold my first short story at the age of 19, and my first novel at the age of 40. I think I’m up to 36 novels and nonfiction books a this point (it’s hard to keep track), and about a dozen produced/published stage plays, and I’m still going strong–at least in terms of turning out “product.” It’s become more difficult to find homes for my work, though, so I’ve been exploring screenplay territory and am making, if not a splash, at least some serious ripples. I’ve been exploring new territory geographically as well.
I grew up in Pennsylvania and have lived in a lot of other states, but am now settled down on the beautiful North Shore of Nova Scotia, where I live off the grid and do some directing and acting and singing and hiking–and, of course, writing.
